Conditions we treat

  • ACL and cruciate ligament tears requiring structured return-to-sport rehabilitation
  • IT band syndrome, runner's knee, and overuse injuries in endurance athletes
  • Rotator cuff tears and shoulder instability in throwing or overhead sports
  • Tennis elbow and other tendon injuries caused by repetitive loading
  • Plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinopathy in running and court sports
  • Muscle strains and post-surgical rehabilitation after sports injury repair

How it works

  1. Sports-specific assessment covering the injury, movement patterns, load history, and your target return date. We look at the whole kinetic chain, not just the injury site.

  2. Diagnosis and injury grading to set a realistic, week-by-week rehabilitation timeline. You will know at the first appointment how long recovery takes and why.

  3. Progressive rehabilitation programme moving from early tissue healing through to full sport-specific training, with clear milestones before each stage advance.

What to expect

Before your appointment

Bring any imaging of the injury and tell us your sport, typical training volume, and the competition or return date you are working toward.

During

The assessment looks at how you move under load, not just at rest. We identify contributing factors such as weakness or movement faults that increase reinjury risk.

After treatment

You receive a phased plan with specific weekly targets. Complete rest is rarely prescribed. We load the tissue progressively from the first session to preserve fitness while tissue heals.

Common questions

How quickly can I return to sport?

It depends on the injury and sport. We give you a realistic timeline at the first appointment based on injury grade, not a vague estimate. ACL rehabilitation typically takes 9 to 12 months to full sport clearance.

Is PRP worth it for sports injuries?

For tendon and ligament injuries, evidence supports PRP as accelerating tissue healing. We recommend it selectively based on injury type, not routinely. If it applies to your case we will say so and explain the evidence.

Should I rest completely after an injury?

Rarely. Complete rest prolongs most recoveries. We load the injured tissue progressively from day one within pain-free limits, which stimulates healing and prevents the deconditioning that makes return to sport harder.
